Community Cohesion

Whitecliffe Academy is at the heart of the communities of Carlin How and Skinningrove.

We believe it is important that our children respect and value the communities in which they live and work to make them better.

It is also important that children learn about, and respect the wider world, and become global citizens and this is taught through the exciting curriculum that we provide. Our children are very active in both the local and wider communities.

We plan and hold community events throughout the year which are supported by the families and communities we serve.

These events include:

  • Coffee afternoons in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support and local events such as the Skinningrove Bonfire and Firework Display.
  • Special assemblies and days based on a wide range of social, moral, spiritual, cultural and religious themes.
  • Christmas and Summer fayres.
  • Family fun afternoons and arts and crafts mornings.
  • Remembrance Day services at the village Cenotaphs.
  • Christmas and Easter services at St Helen’s Church in Carlin How.
