The governors of Whitecliffe Academy are looking to appoint an exceptional Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher with leadership experience or a potential to lead to work within our friendly family village school.  The successful candidate will take a place on our supportive Senior Leadership Team and will be responsible for Mathematics across school. This is permanent post and will start September 2019.

We are seeking to find a candidate who is dedicated and committed to supporting our ethos and raising the aspirations of all of our children to help them flourish within a meaningful, joined up curriculum. This post would suit an experienced Y5/Y6 teacher ready for the challenge of senior leadership.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading maths and will take on a role within one of our specialist teams to support the further development of our integrated curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an exceptional teacher with a potential for leadership.
  • Be adapt at delivering engaging, consistently good and outstanding lessons that meet the needs of all abilities.
  • Have excellent behaviour management and high expectations of what pupils can achieve.
  • Have good subject knowledge and an ability to deliver this in a manner that engages and inspires children to learn.
  • Have an interest in leading maths across school.
  • Understand the role of assessment and how to use this to plan meaningful lessons and opportunities that support and challenge to ensure all children progress well across a lesson and over time.
  • Have successfully led a subject, year group, phase or an area of school improvement.
  • Be a team player and a reflective practitioner with a drive to always want to keep improving their practice and leadership.
  • Be hardworking, committed, dedicated and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Be organised and systematic in their approach.
